Nel Aerts spent a three-month residency at the Vincent Van GoghHuis in Zundert, the village where Van Gogh grew up. Instead of trying to toe the artist’s footsteps, she positioned herself in the iconic interior of the sexton’s house, creating a frame for an extended series of self portraits. Posture Editions selected one hundred of these ballpoint pen drawings and rendered them full-sized in the publication Hundred Zundert. Nel Aerts presented a first set of these drawings during her exhibition Billenkoekat KIOSK.
