Profiling pollution / Derived scrolling

01.05.21

Profiling pollution / Derived scrolling is a project by Floor Vanden Berghe and Klaartje Lesage with two components. The first part is a browser extension which automizes random behaviour within the Facebook website (scrolling and liking). The second part is a website which visualizes all randomly liked posts from all the different extension users.

The project aims at confusing “artificial intelligent” algorithms by feeding it random information, making it’s profiling less accurate. On the other hand it also aims at giving users a place to see a diverse image of the world in the browser, giving them access to information from outside their personal information-bubble.
