The Photographic

KIOSK is organizing an evening devoted to Off Camera, a recent publication by the Thinking Tools research group on 'the photographic'. The book explores how concepts and methods derived from the photographic process have become commonplace today and are used in contemporary art practices. 'The photographic' is therefore understood here as the way in which artists respond to the fluctuating definitions and appearances of the photographic image. A conversation with the book's editor and two artists included in it will delve deeper into the questions the book raises about the artistic potential of 'the photographic'.
